A moment in remembering matter

Wet, dry, bisque fired and high fired Stoneware and Earthenware clay, mild steel, bright steel, plaster, glass, dimensions variable

Departing from painting, ‘A moment in remembering matter’ consists of a site-responsive installation where clay goes through different stages of production in a non-linear manner to create a cryptic narrative. Chunks of clay, steel tubes and rods, glass and one plaster piece are arranged in the space to suggest a production process. Mechanical and hands-on procedures, symbols and tool-like objects merge to compose a semi-visible laboratory of manipulating matter and indicate material faith. Already realized tasks and potential procedures are suggesting a space where past, present and future converge.
